Two-Factor Authentication
Overview
Motadata AIOps now incorporates Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to provide an additional layer of security for user accounts. This enhancement significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access by requiring a secondary verification step during login.
Users can now enable 2FA via authenticator applications (supporting time-based one-time passwords) or email verification. This flexibility allows administrators and users to select the 2FA method that best suits their security policies and preferences.
Navigation
Go to Menu. Select System Settings . After that, select Two Factor Authentication. The configuration page for Tow Factor Authentication is now displayed.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Turn on the toggle switch to enable the Two Factor Authentication.
Once enabled, you will have the below options visible on the screen:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Mode of Authentication | Select your preferred choice of authentication mode. |
OTP | (Appears only when you have selected Email as Mode of Authentication) Click on Send OTP and enter the OTP received on your registered email address. |
Allow Browser to be Trusted for | Enter the number of days to Trust the browser. (You will not need the Two Factor authentication to login again for the number of days you specify.) |
Ensure the user account has a registered email address with Motadata AIOps. In case the user account has no registered email address or is imported through LDAP, it is strongly receommended that email should be added manually.
First-time Setup for Two-Factor Authentication
Once Two Factor authentication has been enabled on your account, you will be prompted to set it up on your subsequent login. You can use the first-time setup guide that will walk you through the process.
