Overview

Overview

The basic policies have a fixed threshold value and they trigger an alert when the value of the metric or the event attributes for which these policies are configured goes above the configured threshold. The Basic Policies can be further divided as follows:

  • Availability Policy
  • Metric Policy
  • Log Policy
  • Flow Policy
  • Trap Policy
  • NetRoute Policy

Default Out-of-Box Alerts

Default Out-of-Box Alerts in Motadata ObserveOps (formerly known as AIOps) offer predefined metric, log, and flow-based alerts. These built-in alerts cover a spectrum of potential issues, from detecting malicious IPs in logs or flows to signaling the unavailability of an ESXi VM, critical CPU utilization levels, multiple failed login attempts, and various other system-related events.

Create Custom Policy

Apart from default Out-of-Box Alerts, Motadata ObserveOps also offers the facility to create policies with customized threshold.

Let us look into all these policies one by one in the next sections.

info

Check the polling interval before creating custom policies to ensure alerts are generated and notifications are triggered at the expected frequency.
