Barcodes

For enhanced uniqueness and business efficiency, organizations can store and track information about their physical assets, from individual items to large stocks. You can assign a barcode to every asset in the CMDB.

Barcodes

You can configure the barcode format using the Configure Barcode Format option in the top-right corner of the page.

The Configure Barcode Format dialog has the following fields:

FieldDescription
Measurement UnitSelect the unit for all label dimension fields. When Millimeters is selected, all dimension field labels update to show (mm).

Inches (default): Select when your barcode printer and label rolls use imperial measurements and your label dimensions are 1 inch or larger.

Millimeters: Select when your printer or label stock is sized in metric units, or when you need to configure small labels (for example, labels as narrow as 8 mm or 10 mm) that fall below the 1-inch minimum supported in the Inches unit.
Label WidthEnter the width of the barcode label in the selected unit.
Label HeightEnter the height of the barcode label in the selected unit.
No. of labels per rowEnter the number of barcode labels to print side by side in each row.
Gap between labels in a rowEnter the horizontal gap between labels in the selected unit.
Print below fields in barcodeSelect the asset fields to print on the barcode label. Available fields: Asset Id, Asset Name, Asset Type, Product Id, Location, Department, Asset Url, Manufacturer, Serial Number, Model Name, Category, and System Family.

Click Update to save the configuration or Cancel to close without saving.
