Motadata CMDB (Configuration Management Database) is a comprehensive repository that offers a structured view of the entire IT environment, including IT assets, services, applications, and their configurations. This feature enhances visibility into asset relationships, enabling organizations to maintain accurate configuration data and improve overall IT service management efficiency. It enables seamless management of configuration items (CIs) and assets, with the ability to configure sync rules and define their behavior. This ensures consistent synchronization between assets and CIs across the IT environment.
Our CMDB supports an extended CI type hierarchy and related properties, so you can manage most CIs in the system. The CI type hierarchy provides a visual way to see where a CI belongs. Another powerful visual aid is the Relationship Mapper, which builds a diagram showing all relationships originating from a CI.
The CMDB group includes options for customizing the CMDB module. It includes the following features:
- CI Type: Manage CI types in the CMDB.
- CI Status: Manage the values in the CI status dropdown list in the CMDB.
- CI Group: Manage the values in the CI group dropdown list in the CMDB. This allows you to categorize CIs into groups.
- CI Custom Rules: Manage custom rules for CI processing that comply with your organization's policies.
