Symptoms

  • The connection to the SMTP server succeeds, but outgoing emails fail to send.

Root Cause

  • The SMTP server connected successfully but rejected the outgoing message.
  • The sender email address isn't authorized to send through this SMTP server.

Resolution

  1. Verify the email address configured on the outgoing server is valid and active.
  2. Contact your IT or mail administrator to confirm ServiceOps is authorized to send emails through this SMTP server.
