Alerts
The Alerts module gives NOC engineers and on-call operators real-time visibility into all active alerts generated by the ObserveOps ObserveOps (formerly known as AIOps) platform. From your mobile device, you can view the full alert list, filter by severity, and open individual alert details, without needing to sit at a desktop.
What is an Alert?
An alert is a notification generated by the ObserveOps platform when a monitored resource crosses a defined threshold or enters an abnormal state. For example:
- A server's CPU utilization exceeds 90% for more than 5 minutes.
- A network device becomes unreachable.
- A disk is at 95% capacity.
Each alert has a severity level, a source device, a timestamp, and a description of the condition that triggered it.
Alert Severity Levels
ObserveOps classifies alerts into four severity levels:
| Severity | What it means |
|---|---|
| Critical | The resource has failed or is in a state that requires immediate action. Services may be impacted. |
| High | A serious condition that is likely to cause failure if not addressed promptly. |
| Medium | A condition that warrants attention but does not have an immediate impact on services. |
| Low | Informational or minor condition. Should be reviewed but is not urgent. |
Navigating to Alerts
Tap the Alerts icon on the bottom navigation bar. The Alert List page appears, showing all active alerts sorted by time, most recent first.
