Discovery and Agents

This module introduces comprehensive capabilities for discovering assets and configuration items (CIs) through both agent-less and agent-based methods, catering to diverse organizational needs.

Key Features:​

  • Agent-based Discovery:
    Utilize lightweight software agents deployed on target devices to gather detailed information about assets and CIs. This approach ensures continuous monitoring, real-time updates, and enhanced visibility of dynamic environments.

  • Agent-less Discovery:
    Leverage network protocols like SNMP, WMI, SSH, and others to remotely discover assets and CIs without requiring software installation on target devices. This method is ideal for environments where agent deployment may not be feasible.

  • Pattern Creation and Management:
    Design and manage customizable discovery patterns to identify and categorize various types of assets and CIs effectively. This feature allows organizations to tailor the discovery process to specific business needs, ensuring accurate and consistent classification of resources.

  • IP Range Management:
    Define and manage IP ranges to control the scope of discovery processes. This ensures that discovery scans are targeted and efficient, focusing on specific network segments or devices.

  • Relationship Type Management:
    Configure and manage relationship types to establish connections between discovered assets and CIs. This provides a clear visualization of dependencies, aiding in impact analysis and root-cause investigations.

By combining these features, the Discovery and Agents module empowers organizations to build a robust and accurate inventory of their IT infrastructure, enabling efficient management and improved decision-making.

It has the following features:

  • Discovery: Maintain as well as discover all the possessed asset records.
  • Agent: Manage all the agents.
  • Credentials: Manage all the credentials.
  • Discovery Pattern: View and create discovery patterns based on which the assets and CIs will be discovered.
  • SNMP Custom Properties: Manage the specific property values of an SNMP device. You can also import the SNMP property and devices.
  • IP Range Location: View the IP Range for Asset discovery.
  • Relationship Types: Manage the types of relationships of an asset.
