Task Form

Streamline task management by customizing forms to efficiently capture and categorize task-related information.

This document guides administrators and consultants through the process of customizing task forms using custom fields. It explains how to modify default templates, add new custom fields, and configure existing fields to ensure that all necessary and structured information is collected for effective task tracking, management, and automation settings.

To view the Task Form, navigate to Admin > Task Management > Task Form and the below page appears.

Understanding Field Types

  • Default Fields: These are the primary, built-in fields that come with the initial installation of the system. Default fields are essential for core task management processes; their names cannot be changed, and they cannot be deleted.
  • Custom Fields: These are additional fields that can be added to the task form from the Field Pallet. Custom fields provide flexibility to meet specific organizational needs. They can be renamed, modified, and deleted as required.

Customizing the Task Form

When managing fields on the task form canvas, various customization options are available to help you arrange and configure fields effectively. These options include:

  1. Field Pallet: You can drag and drop the fields from the pallet to add into the form.
  2. Reorder: You can drag and drop the fields to change the order of the form.
  3. Expand/Collapse: You can expand and collapse the fields to show 1 in a row or 2 in a row. If collapsed, the width of the field will get reduced to half.
  4. Duplicate: You can create duplicate fields from the custom fields.
  5. Edit: You can edit the fields, make them mandatory, or change their characteristics.
  6. Remove: You can delete the custom fields.

Deleting the custom field will remove it and its data from all the related tasks. Also, the Workflows, Scenarios, SLAs, and other components containing these custom fields might be affected. Kindly review the impact before proceeding with the removal.

Adding Custom Fields

The Field Pallet provides a variety of custom field types that you can add to your task form. To add a new field, simply drag and drop the desired field type from the pallet onto the form canvas.

  • Text Fields: Text Input, Text Area, Rich Text Area
  • Selection Fields: Dropdown, Multi-Select Dropdown, Datetime
  • Input Fields: Number, Checkbox, Radio
  • Special Fields: Attachment, Section, Label
  • Advance Fields: Dependent
