Getting Started

This page walks you through everything you need to do before using the ObserveOps Mobile App, from network setup to logging in for the first time.

Before You Begin

Make sure the following conditions are met before launching the app:

PrerequisiteDetails
Device OSAndroid 9.0+ or iOS 13+
NetworkConnected to the organization LAN (Wi-Fi) or VPN
CredentialsYour existing ObserveOps username and password
App InstalledObserveOps Mobile App installed from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store
note

If you are outside the office, connect to the organization VPN before launching the app. The app will not load over public mobile data. This is enforced for security compliance.

Step 1: Connect to the Organization Network

The ObserveOps Mobile App is only accessible from within the organization's internal network.

Option A: Office Wi-Fi (LAN)

Connect your mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network used by your office. No additional setup is needed.

Option B: VPN

  1. Open your organization's VPN client on your mobile device.
  2. Connect to the VPN using your credentials.
  3. Once connected, launch the ObserveOps app.
Verify Connectivity

If you are unsure whether your VPN is set up correctly, contact your IT administrator. The app will show a connection error if the server is not reachable.

Step 2: Install the App

Download and install the ObserveOps Mobile App from your device's app store:

Once installed, tap the app icon to launch it.

Step 3: Log In

  1. On the login screen, enter the Server URL of your ObserveOps instance. This is the same URL you use to access the platform on a desktop browser. For example: https://observeops.yourcompany.com
  2. Enter your Username and Password, the same credentials you use for the web platform.
  3. Tap Login.
note
  • If your credentials are incorrect, an error message will appear. Verify your username and password and try again.
  • Session management follows the same behaviour as the web platform. If your session expires, you will be prompted to log in again.
  • The app does not store your password locally on the device.

When you log in for the first time, the app will ask for permission to send push notifications.

Tap Allow to receive real-time alert notifications on your device. This is strongly recommended for on-call engineers so you are notified immediately when a critical alert is triggered.

If you declined notifications during first launch, you can enable them later from your device's Settings > Apps > ObserveOps > Notifications.

What Happens After Login

Once logged in, you will land on the Dashboard, a real-time snapshot of your infrastructure health. From the bottom navigation bar you can switch between:

  • Dashboard: Infrastructure health overview
  • Alerts: Active alert list with severity filters
  • Devices: Device status with Up / Down / Critical counts
