📄️ Overview
Motadata provides a unified experience in managing and tracking of IT and Non-IT Assets. It has features like Asset Discovery and Bulk Asset Import for easy creation of an Asset Repository (CMDB); for complicated Assets, we have the option of manual upload also.
📄️ Asset Types
Asset Type determines the kind of asset added to the portal. It is a predefined catalog of Asset Types, which serves the purpose of giving you a generic umbrella term for every Asset in the Managing.
📄️ Asset Custom Fields
The layout of asset management has all the fields required to manage the assets of an organization. However, to meet the organization’s needs, you can modify the default template and add new fields. The fields can later be used in the automation settings also.
📄️ Asset Status
Asset Status determines the progress of the asset tickets at each stage. Using these you can know how much work is done or pending on the ticket and accordingly actions can be taken. The system provides some default status values that are ready for use.
📄️ Asset Custom Rules
The custom rules help you to enforce the organization’s compliance while processing an asset. Using these rules you can ensure that any change in the asset attributes is supported by proper comments or notes. For example, any Hardware or Software changes should not be applied by any user.
📄️ Asset Groups
Motadata allows you to categorize Assets in the CMDB into groups. Groups are a convenient way to differentiate Assets based on certain similarities.
📄️ SNMP Custom Properties
Custom properties allow you to fetch specific property values of an SNMP device. The values are located using OIDs (Object IDs). An OID is an address to identify a device and its statuses. For example, you can know the temperature reading coming from a sensor at a remote facility.
📄️ Software Categories
Categories enable you to bring the similar software under a single group. This helps the technicians in filtering out the required software easily and quickly from a huge list. It defines the type of the asset and the category that it belongs. By default, there are no Categories defined in the system.
📄️ Software Types
A Software Type tries to define the nature of existence of a Software Asset.
📄️ Relationship Types
Relationship Type shows a topology of Assets depicting the nature of their relationship with one another. Currently only Hardware, Software, and Non-IT Asset Types have the Relationship tab.
📄️ Asset Discovery
Asset Discovery is the feature that discovers the assets in the network for asset management. It supports both On-Premise and SaaS-based platforms. Using Asset Management, the admin maintains the records of all the hardware or software assigned to each employee.
📄️ Software Rules
In the Service Based industry there are some pre-defined regulations for all the management softwares that are pre-defined while installation. Here, in the Asset management part, assets are broadly divided in 3 divisions which includes Hardware, Software, and Non IT.
📄️ Deployment of STUN/TURN Server
Prerequisites
📄️ RDP Configurations
Motadata ServiceOps allows you to configure and record the RDP sessions. Before configuring, you need to install the server from the backend and then configure RDP. Once configured, install the required RDP Agent in the target machine. For more details, refer to the Agent Installation Guide.

A Product can be further categorized into Product Types. A Product Type is a generic category to group Products. For example, Router is a Product Type that describes Products like Asus, TP-Link, etc. In Motadata, you get a list of Product Types out of the box, but you can also add more types.
📄️ Manufacturer Catalog
Before adding a Manufacturer’s name to a Product, you have to add it in Motadata ServiceOps Portal. Here, you can maintain a list of manufacturers’ names that you can associate with various Products in the system.
📄️ Product Catalog
Every Asset is an instance of a Product. For example: A Windows workstation could be an instance of a Product called HP Desktop JP78. A single Product can have multiple instances in the Database.
📄️ Product Custom Fields
The layout of asset management has all the fields required to manage the products of an organization. However, to meet the organization’s needs, you can modify the default template and add new fields. The fields can later be used in the automation settings also.
📄️ Vendor Catalog

📄️ Barcode
For the uniqueness and ease of business, the organization can store and track information about their physical assets, from individual items to large stocks. You can assign a barcode to every Asset in the CMDB.
📄️ IP Range Location
This section helps in defining a specific range of IP where the group of specific IP’s can be created. Also, Support of mapping site or location with the defined IP Ranges of an organization network needs to be added. Purpose of this functionality is to track or pin point location of the device based on its scanned IP for the cases of agent-based discovery.

📄️ Manage Baselines
A baseline can be considered as the recorded state of any information or attribute of a product, at a specific point of time, which can serve as a basis for defining change. It also serves to provide a fixed reference point for change management. Baselines are not only used to identify the working state of a product but also provides comprehensive views of current baselines against the historical thereby depicting how product attributes have proceeded over time and working conditions.
📄️ Variance Detection
Hardware Asset Variance is the contrast or difference observed in the hardware properties of the recent most asset baseline data. Asset attributes are defined with a baseline. If there is a variance to the specified baseline, the captured variance details would be notified to the technicians specified in the Baseline configuration.
