Motadata Release Notes Version 8.2.8

Release Date: September 2, 2026

What's New?

Multi-Channel Alert Notifications for System Metrics Added

With this release, threshold-based alerts from every system metric category (application, observers, databases, HA, and backup) can be delivered to Email, Microsoft Teams, Slack, JIRA, ServiceNow, and ServiceOps instead of Email alone. Critical alerts also auto-create incidents in JIRA, ServiceNow, and ServiceOps, with metric name, host, current value, threshold, timestamp, severity, and description included in the ticket as well as in all the notification platforms.

Bulk Approval Workflow for NCCM Operations Introduced

With this release, NCCM operations such as Firmware Upgrade, Configuration Sync, Backup Restore, and Runbook Execution across multiple devices generate a single Bulk Approval Request instead of one request per device. Approvers can select and act on individual, multiple, or all pending devices within the request, and each device retains its own approval status, comments, execution record, and audit trail.

Topology Settings Panel Introduced

With this release, a new Topology Settings button in the Topology toolbar opens a right-side drawer with two tabs: Security and Visualization Settings. The Security tab exposes the Access Type (Public or Private) and a new Include Sub-Topologies toggle. The Visualization Settings tab consolidates all Advanced Configuration options and adds Overlays (Lock Topology Visualization, Show Node IP Address, Show Link Protocol, Show Interface Names), Force Simulation controls, and Zoom limits, with every setting persisted per topology across page refresh and subsequent logins.

Clone Action Added for All Policy Types

With this release, a Clone action is available on the listing page for every policy type. Selecting Clone creates a new draft policy pre-filled with all applicable source configurations, opens it in edit mode as disabled to prevent accidental alert generation.

Top 10 Process Runbook Result Email for Recurring Metric Alerts Added

When a Metric Alert Policy has a Top 10 Active Process runbook configured under Take Action, every subsequent trigger of the same alert now sends an additional email with the runbook output alongside the standard notification email. The first occurrence continues to send only the standard email, and if no runbook is attached the notification workflow remains exactly as before.

Ad-Hoc Report Export from Preview Without Saving Changes Added

Users can now open a saved report in Edit mode, temporarily change parameters such as device or source selection, timeframe, filters, and columns, preview the updated result, and export in any supported format (PDF, Excel, HTML) without altering the saved configuration or its scheduler. Closing Edit mode discards the temporary changes, and the next scheduled execution continues to use the original saved configuration.

Server Lifecycle and Deployment Summary KPIs for Oracle WebLogic Added

With this release, Oracle WebLogic monitoring is extended with two new KPI categories through a custom metric plugin. Server Lifecycle Summary collects Name, Type, Cluster, Machine, State, Health, Listen Port, Listen Address, and SSL Listen Port. Deployment Summary collects Name, State, Health, Type, Targets, and Deployment Order.

Optional BCC Recipients Added to Alert Notification Policies

With this release, Motadata Observeops shows a + Bcc option under the Notification section. Selecting it opens a new BCC field that supports the same recipient selection as To, and the enhancement applies only to email notifications.

Ruckus Stack Switch Monitoring Added

With this release, ObserveOps adds monitoring support for Ruckus Stack Switches. Ruckus Stack Switches are discoverable through the Network Device Discovery Profile using SNMP V1, V2c, or V3 credentials, with credential validation performed before discovery begins. Once discovered, ObserveOps automatically categorizes switches, and it needs to be assigned with the appropriate template from Settings > Monitor Template, then render in the network topology view when sufficient topology information is available.

Commvault Backup System Monitoring Added

With this release, ObserveOps adds monitoring support for Commvault v11. Commvault is discoverable through the Other Discovery Profile under a new Backup category, with HTTP or HTTPS credentials configured or created during discovery. Provisioned Commvault systems appear under Monitor > Other > Backup with a dedicated monitoring template.

NCCM Approval Notification Section Added

A new Approval Notification section is now available under the Alerts and Notifications bell icon. When an NCCM approval request is generated, users with approval rights receive a notification showing the pending count and, for each request, the Request Name, Requested By, Timestamp, Description, and Status, letting approvers act on pending requests directly from the notification area.
