4.5. Release Workflow¶
In Motadata, a Release passes through a series of processes which we call the Release Workflow. The processes have been grouped into five stages, and each stage has its own conditions.
The five above mentioned stages are:
Submission: At this stage, the validity of the release is checked. If it is a valid release then the assigned Technician moves the Release to the next stage of Planning
Planning Stage: At this stage, the stakeholders decide how to implement the Release. This is also a knowledge and information gathering stage.
Approval Stage: If the Release requires cross departmental approvals, then at this stage such approvals are sought. The Approval process is triggered here. On success, the Release moves forward to the Deployment Stage.
Note
A single Release can have multiple Approvals.
Deployment Stage: Planning is executed with the help of a Deployer in this stage.
Evaluate and Close: The deployment of the Release is audited by the Release Reviewer for any discrepancies. This is the last stage where the release is marked as Closed if there are no discrepancies.
