Enabling Maintenance Mode for the ObserveOps Health Agent
Use maintenance mode to suppress alerts and notifications for the ObserveOps Health Agent during planned downtime. You can activate maintenance immediately or schedule it for a future time window on both Windows and Linux.
Before You Begin
- You must have permission to manage Health Agent settings.
- Identify whether you need immediate or scheduled maintenance.
- Prepare the reason for the maintenance window — this field is mandatory.
Activate Immediate Maintenance Mode
Use this option when you need to place the Health Agent into maintenance right away.
- Navigate to the Health Agent list in ObserveOps.
- Select the Health Agent you want to place under maintenance.
- Select Maintenance Mode.
- Set Maintenance Type to Immediate.
- Enter a Reason — this field is mandatory.
- Set an End Time to define when maintenance ends automatically.
- Select Confirm.
The Health Agent status changes to On Maintenance. ObserveOps suppresses all alerts and notifications for this agent until the end time is reached or you manually exit maintenance.
Schedule a Maintenance Window
Use this option when you know in advance when maintenance will occur.
- Navigate to the Health Agent list in ObserveOps.
- Select the Health Agent you want to schedule maintenance for.
- Select Maintenance Mode.
- Set Maintenance Type to Scheduled.
- Enter a Start Date and Time.
- Enter an End Date and Time.
- Enter a Reason — this field is mandatory.
- Select Confirm.
The Health Agent automatically enters maintenance mode at the configured start time and exits at the end time. No manual action is required.
Exit Maintenance Mode Manually
If you need to end maintenance before the scheduled end time:
- Navigate to the Health Agent list.
- Select the Health Agent currently On Maintenance.
- Select End Maintenance.
ObserveOps restores normal monitoring immediately.
Result
- While in maintenance, ObserveOps suppresses all alerts, notifications, and status changes for the Health Agent.
- All maintenance actions are recorded in the audit log with the reason, user, start time, and end time.
- After maintenance ends — either automatically or manually — the Health Agent resumes normal monitoring.
Troubleshooting
Maintenance mode did not activate at the scheduled time. Check that the start date and time are in the future at the time of configuration. Verify that the server clock on the ObserveOps primary application server is accurate.
Alerts are still firing during maintenance. Confirm the Health Agent status shows On Maintenance in the Health Agent list. If not, the maintenance configuration may not have saved correctly — repeat the steps above.
