13.2. Monitor Maintenance Job

This job is used to turn on/off the maintenance mode of monitors. Maintenance mode is highly useful when your monitors are scheduled for a planned maintenance (or planned down). The maintenance mode job will stop polling the monitors at your planned time and Motadata will not alert you about their inavailability.

For example: In one case we observed that a client used to turn down the network servers from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM. The network administrators didn’t care to schedule a maintenance job for the downtime. Motadata flooded their emails about high criticality as monitors were unavailable.

Specific Fields

  • Monitors: Select from the list of monitors.

  • Maintenance On/Off: Select ‘Turn On’ or ‘Turn Off’ the maintenance of selected monitors. System do not poll data of the monitors in maintenance mode.

  • Email Actions: Select the email action from the drop down. To configure a new action, see Actions > Create New Action > Email Alert(s).
