17. AdminΒΆ
The admin section is dedicated for all administrative activities in Motadata. The user who has access to this section has full access to all the sections of Motadata. The section has options for you to connect with your network and define the behavior of Motadata towards it. In this section you can manage default rules or create new rules (that become default values to the other users). The menus in admin section are categorized in various groups based on their types.
Security: Motadata allows access to the system only through secured login credentials. The security settings manages the list of users, their departments, permissions etc. You can also configure the RADIUS and LDAP server for user authentication. Also, the section has audit section with journal entries of whole application.
Network Discovery Settings: Create the network and credential profile to discover (and rediscover) your network. Here, you can poll and provision the monitors. Only the provisioned monitors will be visible in Motadata.
NCM Discovery Settings: Create the network and credential profile to discover your NCM devices. Here, you can poll and provision the NCM devices. Only the provisioned monitors will be visible in Motadata.
Cloud Discovery Settings: Create the cloud discovery and credential profile to discover the cloud devices. Here, you can poll and provision the cloud devices. Only the provisioned monitors will be visible in Motadata.
WAN Discovery Settings: Create the WAN discovery and credential profile to discover the wireless devices. Here, you can poll and provision the wireless devices. Only the provisioned monitors will be visible in Motadata.
Alert Settings: Before sending an alert you need to define when to send alert, mail/SMS settings and conditions for the alert. System evaluates all these parameters and sends accordingly.
Flow Settings: The flow settings like definition of ports and protocols (for example: UDP, HTTP) are defined so the end users understand the result in human understandable language instead of technical jargons.
Log Settings: The log parser rules define what logs should be generated and stored in Motadata server.
Other Settings: The group is a combination of settings that are for convenience of users.
Distributed Monitoring: Distributed Monitoring is used for creating High Availability Motadata setup.
Device Hierarchy Configuration: The device hierarchy is evaluated while calculating availability SLA for devices.
